Welcome to the new year for Nursery and Reception! We are very excited to be back at school, investigating, learning and making friends.
Nursery have been looking at Autumn leaves, learning the days of the week, learning our numbers and alphabet sounds. It is hard work but lots of fun too!
Nursery and Reception had a drumming workshop where we learnt to beat a rhythm and had lots of fun making lots of noise! We also had a P/E. Session with an Olympian athlete, Ezekiel. We were very busy exercising and Mrs Edet, Mr Broughton and Miss Murphy joined in too – we needed our milk afterwards!
Reception class children have settled in well and love exploring their different learning areas. It is lovely to see children building farms, cooking in the home corner, reading stories with puppets, while also developing their counting and handwriting knowledge.
Phonics is very much an important element of learning taking place in Reception and pupils are making excellent progress through the Read, Write, Ink method.
Lastly, I would like to thank all parents for your support so far this year and look forward to sharing further good news stories with you.
