Wet Weather Arrangements
In extremely wet and cold weather, children are allowed to enter the school building at 8.45am (at the discretion of the Senior Leadership Team), 10 minutes before the start of the school day.
EYFS children should be taken directly to the YrN and YrR classrooms.
Children in KS1 and KS2 should enter the school building through the school office, or the KS1 playground entrance, where a member of staff will be there to greet them and direct them to their classroom.
During wet weather, please ensure that you do not send your children to school too early, as staff are working on preparation, planning and marking at this time and are unable to supervise children before 8.45am. Please ensure that your child is wearing a warm, waterproof jacket when the weather is wet.
At the end of the school day, we would encourage parents to use umbrellas and the shelters that are currently available in the YrN, YrR, KS1 and KS2 playground during wet weather, as children will be collected (as normal) from the following parts of the school:
- EYFS – YrN and YrR classrooms
- KS1 – the front playground
- KS2 – the back playground
Our wet weather arrangements take account of child protection, health & safety and supervision guidance.
